Apply for financing at Home Improvement Loan Pros

Our shelters are now available for purchase at any Lowe’s store. Take advantage of 0% financing with your Lowe’s card!

Communication Federal Credit Union rates for storm shelters start at .99% for qualified applicants.

Rebates

Rebates are dependent on the city/county in which you reside. There are numerous county and city-specific rebate programs in Oklahoma.

Below is a list of all safe room and tornado shelter rebate programs in Oklahoma:

Sooner Safe – Safe Room Rebate Program

this is Oklahoma’s state-wide, annual, safe room and tornado shelter rebate program. This will cover 75%, up to $2000, of a qualified safe room or tornado shelter.

The SoonerSafe Safe Room Rebate Program is currently open and taking registrations. SoonerSafe has been open to registrations since 2011 and you do not have to re-register each year. Please be sure to read ALL the Rules and Regulations of the program.

The intent of OEM is to have annual drawings, contingent upon federal funding (See Rules & Regulations). Past drawings occurred in January, however, for 2014 the funding has been slightly delayed due to the Oklahoma May 2013 Tornadoes as well as the government furlough which occurred in the summer. The 2014 Drawing should be within the next 4-6 weeks from today, January 15, 2014.

Chickasaw Nation Tornado Shelter Program

This program provides storm shelters for privately owned homes of Chickasaw citizens.

Required application is available at the Housing Administration office. An applicant can expect to find out within 10 business days if he/she qualifies to be placed on the waiting list.

For citizens at large, grants will be provided for up to $2,500 for installation of storm shelters.

You Provide

CDIB/Citizenship Card for applicant
Social Security cards of all household members
Income verification of all household members
Copy of warranty deed

Eligibility

Must be Chickasaw Citizen
No outstanding debt owed to the housing division or to the Chickasaw Nation
Home must be the applicant’s primary residence
Storm shelters are awarded one time only to each family in order to meet the needs of all Chickasaws

Choctaw Nation Storm Shelter Program

The program provides a grant for storm shelters to Choctaw Tribal Members who live in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas, which are states with a high risk of tornadoes.

Applicant must be 45 years old or older to receive the full grant amount of $2,500.00.

Applicants under the age of 45, who meet all other requirements, will receive a grant in the amount of $1,250.00.

To qualify for the $4,200.00 grant, applicant must have a documented ambulatory disability
